In that direction, just north of lost
Past the point of forgetting the cost
He walks alone, into the fire, to burn away, his only desire
He stood and stared into the dark, where once he felt a love stained mark
When last along this rocky shore, he once walked this place before
He called this fire his friend and home
He walked into his fate unkown.

This was very cool and the rhyming nicely done. So many times in poems I read the rhymes sound forced, but in this the flow is nice and smooth. Great message as well.

Thank you very much. If you read other works of mine, you'll find that I prefer my poetry to rhyme, but if during writing a piece, the rhymes begin to feel forced I will either abandon it entirely, or completely change direction. I too have read far to many rhyming poems that feel forced and I am always jarred by this, as if having a lump in your throat that you can't get out. Again, thank you very much, I truly appreciate it.
