Time Has Come To Say Goodbye

Time Has Come To Say Goodbye

A Poem by Sean R. Ewing
"

My grandmother passed away on Friday 6th August 2010 and i have written this poem for her funeral.

"

The time has come to say goodbye,

We will not weep, we will not cry,

We’ll stand strong and proud, yes, that’s what we’ll do,

We’ll stand strong and proud, just like you.

You taught us to love, you taught us to care,

You taught us to be gentle, tender and fair.

You taught us to laugh, you taught us to smile,

You made all those years, forever worthwhile.

You told us to Dream, to live for the now,

So when I dance on Broadway, for you, my final Bow.

So off you go, it’s time to rest,

Close your eyes, and have dreams of the best.

For this journey that we all must take and each must go alone

It’s all a part of the Masters plan, a step on the road to home.

Homeward bound your journey takes you, earning you your grace,

Home at last, your journey ends in your mothers’ warm embrace.

The time has come to say goodbye,

A newborn star in the moonlit sky,

Still watching over us, until the very end,

Forever shall you be, my grandmother, my friend.
