A Wish

A Wish

A Poem by Sean

Written as a reply to a post on Craigslist.

A Wish

Time moves,

But never retreats,
Once loosed,
An arrow never returns.

A wish,
To turn back time,
A wish,
To change what was.

Times move,
But people retreat,
Once loosed,

Our feelings never return.

I cannot grant you your wish,
But I offer this poorly written poem in consolation.
I grieve that we live with such regrets,
But I hope that you’ll always look forward.

Author's Note

I felt sorry for this person who posted (As shown below), so I wrote to her with this poem.

Titled: "Wish"

I wish you loved me for me, rather than for what I could give.
I wish you never cheated
I wish I wasn't so naive and stupid

I've got to learn from this lesson so that I'll be wiser if someone new should come around

Nice write. I like the simplicity of your statements that have such great meaning. Awesome job and how considerate for you to take the time to craft such a well-thought out reply to the poor gal who made the post. Thanks for sharing.

Singapore, Singapore

There's not much to say really. I'm 23 years old, 1.78m tall, and of a slender build. I live, I ponder, I read, and I write. Not so much different from the rest of you. I'm from Singapore, and for.. more..
