Life Is What You Make It

I'm dead, destroyed, hollow, dry, wilted

Being pushed from here to there by the air

All around me is life

Growing, pushing forward, resisting, living the life that was always given to them

They are constantly changing, transitioning, shifting, transforming into the life they were meant for

I remain... unmoved, unchanged, constant, stagnant, stuck like the f*****g muck in my soul

Where is my life?

Where?

Where?

Huh!

There it is

A spark, an ember, an ignition, a flame ready to ignite

Come on! Come on!

All the conditions are perfect

I'm dead

I’m dry

I’m withered

And all of the sudden the flames shoot up

Sending sparks across the heavens

And ash into the sky

being blown around by the wind

Taken up and down and around to everywhere

Over everything

And as the flames disappear

And the dust settles

I realize that I have become a part of it all

All the life that I so envied

And I realized that life isn't given to you

You make it
