Comma

Comma

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

A jest at the opposite sex.

"

If you didn't know

Both men and women

Have been assigned their own

Agenda roles

But here is my main point

The focus is not

On "that time of the month"

But... in the week after

"The woman's comma" I've dubbed

A time for reflection

A pause if you will

A sigh of relief... and

Lastly, a prayer to God

Thanking him for His plan

Making me the simple creature called man

We are the simple creatures.
I like this one, Michael. You look at a woman's cycles through a male perspective and find that you're glad you were born a man. I, however, would much rather be a woman - the thought of shouldering a rifle and marching into war never appealed to me. Each sex has its postives and negatives, and I believe God has made members of each of the sexes in such a way that they can handle the negatives inherent to their sex better than the other sexes' members could. Does that make sense? Don't know, but just don't hand me a gun!

Ha! You should thank God for making you a man at that time of the month... and you should buy your wife flowers. And do the dishes. ;) Cleverly penned, Mike!

Believe or not my wife came up with the idea.
My first read...and I um...feel a bit irritated. But that could be hormones talking and not my intellect. Forgive me for feeling insane. Maybe God granted us that "period of time each month" to give us a break from you?

Did this one come to you after a period by chance? This is exactly how I know God is a man too, I'd thank him more profusely if he had let you guys deal with it, 'that time of the month' as you so aptly put it....interesting read Mike.
