Blackbird

Blackbird

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Annoying calls of crows in my yard

"

I hear the caw

Birds call as hypnotism

Turn the skies more black than grey

I am charmed by their chants

Of a black bird coven

And I believe I can fly away

But I’ll be damned

With a mindset raven

Gossiping emptiness; threats along the way

Driving more men mad

And farther from a destination; heaven

As I search for further prey

you're very welcome.
"blackbird singing in the dead of night"

wow this is colorful in a dark sort of Poe/Hitchcock kind of way---

driving men mad, the gossiping raven...and the caws are they raucously laughing at us.
