Ode to pravallika

Dedicated to my friend, a girl who got married and went to her new home. written on 18th oct 2012.

Walking down the track, in the lane of life,

we face many tough hurdles, which are never alike,

nevertheless, hope gives us power, do not fear,

believe in it, it can take you up forever.

you've been a good learner,

you've been a good friend,

you've been a good leader, and

you've been part of our memories all the way.

i hope that the smile will persist on your face,

i hope that you & your hubby will be like a flower & vase,

i hope that you both will add beauty to one another,

.....and you people will have least to bother.

ever be hopeful of being blessed,

ever be hopeful of wedded bliss, and

do not forget, even though you make blunders,

that, a small hope can do wonders.

Signing off with joy & hope that you'll live your next part of your life blithefully with your 'better half', as your life unfurls and takes you to a more responsible environment.

Author's Note

Wrote this one as my goodbye lines to a girl, a friend of mine, who got married and stepped into her new home ('sasural' in hindi)....a kinda message to her in poetic lines. Worthy enough??!!

Very well written Shekhar !! I see you've improved a lot... The rhyming is almost flawless, it's amazing. Also you've managed to join together the whole poem with the same meaning and the same idea which I feel is tough at the beginning !
