Simply Flowers~

Simply Flowers~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

a soldier~a field~ a little mother~

"

Here in lotus blossoms white

she curls galium 'neath her thighs

fingertips play cells in cello

he brings her caltha, gallant fellow

"Come here to me my darling son

the battles fought, lost, then won

permit me feed your weary soul

primula dipped in silky brew."

The field is dressed in sheets of iris

he leans against the bundled thyme bliss

woven from the mother's hair

herbs crushed against her skin, so fair

"Mother, love, I've lost my soul

left it back on some patrol

no iberis mead could heal

the hollow where my spirit kneels."

The woman tucks her son in close

against her blush heart of a rose

she cradles every broken trust

with sage she soothes his mind of rust

"My son, I am your mazus fair

I have the blood to heal what ails

your fragile soul, your burdened spine

I am the weaver called, Align."

"Mother, I am crushed with sorrow

bodies line yesterday, today, tomorrow

my hands are crusted mud from graves

oxalis memories in waves."

Here in tulips in first bloom

a mother shifts her spinning loom

she reweaves the dreams of her young man

until a boy, repatched, rests in her hand

And love is sorrow

sorrow love

gentiana petals

sun

a little mother

earth in womb

the body of her son

draped

blooms

a flag to place upon her mantle

a vase of bellis

heart dismantled

right

is wrong

so wrong

in right

her fists against the painting

fight

outside her window

field of blooms

her little boy

smiles clovers

plumes

An wonderful and elegant poem. As I read it, I was taken back in time to what a mother may have felt from losing a son during World War I, where the innocence of the youth of the world was lost. With your sowing of flowers throughout your piece, I kept visualizing the colorful fields of France and Belgium in early spring. Remarkable work!

What beauty does weep from your pen, and weep rightly so...
As this painted reality in metered prose of rhyme does snap a shutter of colors exploding on a black and white reality...
Touched to the depth of my soul, your portrayal carried me across his grave and into her mournful heart... but your capture of her love and nurturing hands induced the golden hues of humanity so hidden by the darkness that all too often overshadows.

This is not a poetic, it's a masterful capture of a single human condition often missed, left unappreciated, in the mayhem of the battle.

Gorgeous and delicate offerings today, my poet~ hugs
