Patchwork Girl~

Patchwork Girl~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

~ smile~

"

when the girl first came to him

she was a patchwork quilt

of discarded gems

broken heroes dripping off her fingertips

a little bit tarnished

a little bit famished

plum lips

pursed

diamond back edged by the framework of wings

she said

“Teach me detachment. My chakras are aligned for nirvana. Enlighten me.

she was certainly a piece of work

each day he took his quill

dipped it into the sun

and drew a feather for her sad wings

each night he asked the moon for a piece of chalk

and outlined her soul against the velvet sky

when the girl left him

she was a patchwork quilt

of iridescent peacock feathers

stars dripping from the corners of her eyes

a little bit shiny

a little bit reflective

plum lips

pursed for a kiss

wings spread like a bough above them both

she said

“Thank you for teaching me attachment. My chakras are alive in the jewel in the lotus. Nirvana.”

she was certainly a piece of work

The poem is wonderful. Your words create a beautiful tale. I like the feel of the old ways. Each line adding to a excellent story.

I really didn't like the refrain "she was a piece of work", but otherwise, nice imagery.

Oh!beautiful words Selene..how we seek detachment in vain hope of curing bitterness from our lives..yet that is not the answer..there are so many truths to life waiting to be revealed only if we wanted them to reveal..You always use beautiful phrases to adorn your writing.

Seeking guidance is not the same as seeking to be reinvented.

A Master accepts a girl... and breaking her..redraws her to his liking...she becomes his One ..attached...the real trick would be to redraw her in her own discovered selfimage...and her to be forever grateful for the finding of her self expression...the Art is in the discovering, unfolding ,metamorphing from the coccoon ....not the creation of the image...

Indeed.
Irony steps in again into your world, as men did most of the breaking- a few helped put pieces back together. I stand from afar and admire the patchwork quilt of the person you have become. Your tapestry is a work of art Selene, as are you ♥
