Invisible Man

Invisible Man

Invisible Man

Am I invisible?

Or am I just fine

I’ve noticed

 I’m being unnoticed

Is it all just in my mind?

Your disrespect is detectable

Am I misreading the signs?

Overlooked and under-appreciated

Maybe you’re the one who’s blind.

Not seeing me for who I am

And keeping my light confined

But hiding a star in the dark

Will only increase its shine

There are too many who are unseen

Disregarded and ignored

I hope they heed my transparency

And these words strike a chord

Because the world is full of ghosts

With their heads in the sand

A visual all too visible

Only seen by an invisible man

This was a wonderful read. Very well written and I read it several times - it struck home for me. The feeling and sincerity jumped out at me. "Not seeing me for who I am/And keeping my light confined/But hiding a star in the dark/Will only increase its shine" - beautiful and simple. Well done my friend!

true, sometimes
I like how it addresses, in a way unseen talent if you think about it in an artistic perspective. But also those people who are special that no one ever knows about because they don't take the time to do so or even slow down and pay attention.

thank you Keith!
Nice write, I enjoyed this.

I loved the contrasts in the lines,

"Your disrespect is detectable

Am I misreading the signs?"

and

"I hope they heed my transparency

And these words strike a chord"

Nicely penned. :)

thank you Pollai!
the shadow who walks between the clouds to keep his profile sharp. sometimes we need to remind ourselves that it is our mirror that reflects reality - and not the eyes -straight-ahead mentalists who couldn't find their a*s with both hands and can't see you for looking at their own reflection in the strorefront window - any reflective surface will do - as long as it matches their idea of comfort... well done and sorry for the rant you inspired.

INTRODUCTION

This reminds me of the "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen."

CONTENT

Subjectively, I feel as though we have felt i n v i s i b l e at some point. We judged for what is on the surface before we meet someone. The beauty of virtual worlds as that we are able to create the fantasy for others to look in on like a morbid exhibit. Writers are able to see you from the inside out :)

But hiding a star in the dark

i'm glad it did

thanks Cleide!
"i've noticed i'm being unnoticed"

bravo for that line...the unnoticed ones often are the most significant..and sooner or later those who get all the attention will let us down...and the silent ones, the invisible ones will emerge and carry us through.
