Daylight

I almost like the dark, sometimes it feels like my only companion

There are some things
Daylight cannot erase
Memories that linger on
After the darkness
Has been pushed away

And I remember the silhouettes
As time slowly crumbles
As the shadows cling
Pulling me back into the night
In my eyes
The reflections of stars still shine
Emotion lifts my soul
Beyond to another place
Where I lay safe
Far from reality
I dream of all the thoughts
I cannot escape

There I am alone
Ghosts flowing within my mind
I feel all the distance
Between you and me fade
Until I could almost
Reach out to you
Whisper all the feelings
My lips could not show you
All the words I had written
Stare into your eyes
So you could perhaps
Understand how I feel

I would say
In that language
Only souls comprehend
All the things I regret
Sorrow for the things I had done
But could not erase
Guilt for everything I thought
Yet could not say
And in my mind
Maybe you could understand

There are some things
Daylight cannot erase
Some things hearts will never forget
And some things
that no matter how hard you try
You can never escape

I loved this poem. It was awesome. I can relate to it because it's true that daylight can't erase everything, but some things you can..but it depends on your heart. This was a very enjoyable. Going in my favorites. Thanks for sharing. :D
