Prayer's Lesson

Prayer's Lesson

A Poem by Tim Allison
"

Sometimes, life brings hard times our way. It's easy to become overwhelmed as the storm encompasses our tiny ship. Witness God's power and learn the value of prayer's lesson as you keep a perspective on the lessons behind our trials.

"

Troubles, trials, pain and sorrow

An important lesson teach.

That we shall all be safe tomorrow,

Well within the Master's reach.

With peaceful waters left behind,

And storm clouds stretched before,

Our battered ship is sailing blind,

Trusting in the Lord.

Although the raging billows roll,

And our vessel is nearly sinking,

We must remember to pray as told,

And upon His promise be thinking.

Hands outstretched, His voice is heard

Saying, “Peace be still.”

The angry waters heed his words,

Surrendering to His will.

Deliverance is come. The storm has released.

Our vessel the Master has saved.

Prayer's lesson says, “There will come peace

When we kneel before God and pray.”
