Grieve me not

Grieve me not

A Poem by shallimarRose
"

I wrote this after hearing a the heart breaking story of a young woman diagnosed with ewings carsonoma at only eighteen years of age.. She passed away July 16th 2012 at the age of twenty one...

"
Grieve me not

as I leave this earthly home
and lay me down to rest
I hope you know you're not alone
this is not a final quest

I'll be there in the morning
when sleep is in your eyes
I'll be there in the wisp of wind
and on the wings of butterflies

I'll be there in the tepid rain
I'll be there on the starry nights
I'll be there in the rainbows glow
and on the hummingbird in flight

I'll surround you with my love
caress you as you sleep
my body is no longer mine
my heart was yours to keep

Please know that I am with you
feel me with your heart
surround yourself with memories
for these do not depart

and when you go to sleep at night
and say your bedtime prayer
I hope you know you're not alone
and that so many care

so I ask you grieve me not
don't stand beside my grave
just raise your eyes up to the lord
and sing his godly praise...

A tribute piece of a write...hard to define this one...you weave words for her departure and the ending puts this in a positive write:

so I ask you grieve me not
don't stand beside my grave
just raise your eyes up to the lord
and sing his godly praise...

you give her a place and time in a world of mortals...and she has gone to better haven...

Reading this it made me feel as if it was someone I lost close to my heart and they were writing it to me. I think she would be proud to say that you wrote this for her. Very moving piece..

A very touching assurance of unconditional love. Though physically away, true love is always with us, surrounds us and touches us in every way. Death is superficial, love is everlasting.

Beautifully written. Thanks.

Very nice, I have no suggestions that could make this any better than it is to me. Beautifully written and so touching a message.

Thank you my sweet friend.. huggs, Rose
Chill bumps come in waves over me as I read this incredible reminder and fitting tribute to those gone from our world far too soon in our thinking. They came and went early, not for their own experience as much as for the lessons made available to those left behind. 21 years may seem such a short span, but some spirits can live 10 lifetimes in a short span while others can experience very little in a long life span. The following lines describe sublime truth,
"I'll surround you with my love
caress you as you sleep
my body is no longer mine
my heart was yours to keep"
Beautiful write...

This is a great poem for saying goodbye when that time finally comes. A way of letting the people who love you know, that you will continue to be with them just in a different way.
