Fairytales and Moonbeams

Today she met him again

in her dreams

knowingly she looked at him

she had met him here before

though never in real time

never really seen him

was he not a dream

a figment of her imagination

she could sense it

he had held her before

somewhere between day and night

somewhere between fairytales and moonbeams

his eyes so engaging, so familiar

she remembers a kiss never tasted

she feels the arms never held

she awakens in the predawn hours

slipping her body out from under satin sheets

and walks toward the window

wrapping herself in a white lace robe

throwing one tie of the belt to close

covering her trembling body

moonlight glows through the window

her silhouette through white lace

momentarily she gasps a heavy hearted sigh

"where is this man of my dreams

this man I feel  have met before

this man  I long for in silence"

She throws open her window

looking up at the Hot August moon

suddenly moonbeams descend

like a glistening staircase to a heavenly place

a place she has only dreamed about

a place where desire and fantasy collide

and shooting star wishes are a fact

and moonbeams can be captured in a jar

a place where anything is possible

and everything is beautiful

............Suddenly she sees him

he is no longer an image

a thought

a wish

he is no longer

a fantasy

but a reality

and as she climbs the moonbeams

she meets him halfway

because no-one should ever walk the path alone

but meet somewhere in the middle

and then climb to those highest peaks together

He takes her hand

and in this moment

in this one moment

it is real

and it is love!

Enchanting and flowing ob beautiful moon beams. The heart does allow us these dreams, as we sleep we see what no one else can, but to our mind it is real. Often we wake to find that these dreams come true. Very beautiful and sensual. I truly enjoyed this.

Very romantic with a dash of sexiness... sometimes we can feel love before we find it.
You enchant me with your poetry.

a dream that many don't want to wake up from. then they realize the dream was actually the reality and the reality was in fact the dream. :)

A lovely write of love and romance. Beautiful presentation. Well crafted free verse. Good imagery and descriptives. Vivid visuals that any reader can appreciate. Flow and line to line transition is nicely done. Lovely depth of feeling. Delightfully sensual. Magical. Good word choice. Nice use of repetition for emphasis of feeling. Good closing lines. Well penned. Write on!

Captivating, enchanting, and most of all creative. The picture that you put at the top was good, but the poem was better!

Oh the idea of true love coming from a dream. If only it were as you have portrayed it here. I love the imagery, it offers such a vivid scenery that starts off so sensual and ends with lightheartedness that gives the reader hope that love like that exists. Well, that's what I got from it anyway. Good poem!
