Empty Yet Heavy

Empty Yet Heavy

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

I look at my now empty palm,
feeling the loneliness of my hand,
wondering when you slid so calm,
as a silent tear slid down my eye,
I sit here in doomed darkness,
regretting it to be "how and why?"
never did i think i can do it on own,
the darkened fear of loneliness kills
making my weekend heart awfully torn,
as i walk so soulless and in pain,
thinking of those past memories,
which all now just nothing but vain,
how can life take its easiest turn,
throwing me on its sharpest edge,
My heart pitilessly in melancholy churn,
death blackens not you but me,
as i look up at the glittering stars,
searching for you, if only i can see!
tears don't mend a depressed heart,
they just make it empty yet heavy,
as it has taken away a dearest part!

Oh love, this is desperately sad, the feeling of alone-ness is so apparent. Your more than fine writing hides such fragility and if its source is fact, so wish i could hug you some comfort. '.. as I walk so soulless and in pain, thinking of those past memories .. '

Thank you so much dear... the poem is a partial fact in remembrance of my lost friend.

I did not notice my tears that hid in my eyes until I could not read your words. Believe me, your words are very powerful so much that I am deeply moved.

Thank you so much dear... the poem is a partial fact in remembrance of my lost friend.
The way you mention the heaviness of emptiness is impressive and true.
Some losses are so permanent that they are hard to comprehend. Seeking
the stars at the end is a beautiful image & a hopeful sign. xxx
