Rain

Rain

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

The bright sky turns itself to a grayish mat,
The clouds that passes through, now just gathers like ball,
As the worried mother comes out searching for her brat,
The farmer with joy looks out for showers of rainfall.

Across the sky, the loud thunder strikes,
For sure, it was the sign of rain,
To prevent floods, there were strongly constructed dykes,
Then as expected, on ground fell droplets like grain.

To their nests flew the lovely birds,
In zephyr were swaying the trees,
Heavy showers were constant from then onwards,
At home mom made hot pizza with cheese.

How lovely it is to enjoy rain after many days,
Kids were found playing in water splashes,
The water was saved to utilize in many ways,
The road was flooded as there were heavy lashes.

The climate was cold and feeling good,
People were cozily huddled and cuddled to sleep,
After gulping their hot served food,
In the corners were small gravels and leaves collected in heap.

The rain turned dry lands swampy,
It was the joy of seeing rain after months,
Which made people really very happy,
The joy was times more than zillionths.
