Lullaby (",)

Lullaby (",)

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

Sleep baby darling sleep,
For your mama is here
To take care of you,
And will never let you weep.

So soft like a flower bud are your feet,
Will hold you in my arms,
This is the real joy of motherhood
Which nothing else can beat.

All my work I will put away
To sing you a song,
In this dark night,
Till you sleep I will sway.

I will let nothing come near you,
My dear fairy angel
Sleep in peace,
For your papa will soon be here too.

For you, the shiny stars are twinkling,
Just for you to sleep,
By the time you wake up,
The stars will soon be dwindling.

Let your cry not crack the silent night,
Cry not baby,
Chuckle now, for your mama,
All I want is, you to sleep tight.

I will hold you against my soft bosom,
Will sing you lullaby,
Sleep in peace, only then tomorrow
Fresh like a flower can you blossom.

Sleep baby darling sleep,
For your mama is here
To take care of you,
And will never let you weep.

I totally agree with JENY on this
nobody can write such true and beautiful motherhood feelings without going through it
if my mother's lullabies are kept aside then this is the best one i ever came across
Good job!

I am sure ...that
you have gone through motherhood...
otherwise ...it cant be this much touching....
excellent...translation of maternal feelings..into words

Poems like this touch my heart, and this is an especially tender and loving expression of a mother's feelings. Oh, if only all mothers could be like this one.
