Dark Night

Dark Night

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

In the midst of dark night
I heard a sudden cry,
Cry of people who were in plight
Wondering what could have happened,
My heart sunk in fear,
The sounds heard made my mind sickened

With bare foot, I stepped out of my house
With sleepy eyes in the dark,
Not disturbing the sleep of my spouse,
When my foot was stained with blood
My whole body started to tremble
While the blood was covering the road like flood

People were lying on the ground
With tears of pain and hurt
I just stood there frozen and astound
Tears poured like rain
With raising hands, they asked for help
Oh God! But all help were in vain

All hopes were merely shattered
When there was sudden heavy blast
Is it that lives no longer mattered?
To put an end to all hatred so far,
With silent prayer lets pray to god
And wish that there was no more such war..

Tragic as a dark night..and sad and chaotic!
Pain and suffering is not good. hope dies when no one loves you back
this piece has life and death.. love it

Amazing, I loved it, it's such a tragic event and you put so much emotion and thought into this. I hope to read more of your writing.
if you don't mind, would you read and review some of my poems and my story called In the Begnning? I would love to get more people to review everyday.

And I say Amen to this powerful, heartfelt write.
No one should have to wake in fear of what's outside
their door. How tragic. Well done with this one :)
