Kids In Summer

Kids In Summer

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

                     "Kids In Summer ☀☂"

During hot summer days,

When sun blaze bright,
Child plays flying kite.

                  Playing in scorching sun,
                  Holiday time fun starts,
                 They run chasing carts.

                                     No classes to attend,
                                    Summer tents extend high,
                                    Exams end, fears fly.

                  They love catching fish,
                  Their prayers wish small
                  Tiny fish for all!

Returning home at sunset,
Waiting to let in,
With wet dirty skin.

Firstly I loved the graphics and the colorful font and the way you indented it.
It's high time that I saw something colorful in writers cafe.

I felt really nostalgic after reading it ,it reminded me of my summer vacations. How I used to wait for that period every year.

No classes to attend,
Summer tents extend high,
Exams end, fears fly.

This freedom from books and studies was something we all cherished at some point in our lives.

I remember as a kid just loving the summer. Outside from dusk til dawn! You express this joy of childhood so wonderfully, and the absolute pleasure of being wet and muddy at the end of the good day!

Great concept love the format that’s what writing is all about, venturing out.
Good job keep it up

I love summer and as kid I did all this .. now i watch my little one enjoying summer.
It is just as fun now as it was then. For school children summer is a dream..

You have the Than Bauk down well. I am not informed about poetry styles.
Need to learn..
I like this summery fun filled poem, good luck in the contest and a happy summer to all.

This brings back lots of memories of when I was a kid. I use to love the summer as I use to eat ice-cream and swim in my swimming pool. I would worry about exams all the time and in the summer holiday my fears would go away

"Returning home at sunset,

HAHAHA! I don't know what bemused me more. The memory of being the child getting dirty, and not understanding why my mother was so annoyed with me, or as the exasperated mother having to clean two filthy little boys and suddenly realizing I've got another seven weeks of this to look forward to. :)

Such a wonderfully lighthearted and sweet write.
