Tree At My WindowA Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)Written for Glosa Contest, a tribute to great poet Robert Frost.....Tree At My Window:
Tree at my window, window tree, My sash is lowered when night comes on; But let there never be curtain drawn Between you and me. -Robert Frost
A tree at my window, window tree, Tingles all the time, standing by the sill Sways breeze around happy and free, Gazing at the birds I stand there still.
My sash is lowered when night comes on, The tree still sways, sways all the time, I looked at the time as I start to yawn, Breeze sweeps in jingling the chime.
But let there never be curtain drawn, Along with me this tree had grown old, It waves tirelessly till I wake at dawn, For ‘tis my buddy, we hold secrets untold.
Between you and me, A strong bond people shall see, For I’ll soon pass and you’ll be, To my son, guard as his own tree. ***************************************** AWARDS/ BADGES WON: 3rd best over allSep 23, 20115th Place Mar 23, 2012© 2012 Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)Reviews
