A Poem by Shama Zara

Here I sit, in this car
Staring at the leaf less branches
Of that tree
Yet I see, beyond it bareness
Fruitful and awaiting me
Here I think, in this late hour
Of this moment in time
Frustrated, fed-up, unsure and lonely
Yet I know, good things await me
I know
I will laugh this day away
Someday
Laugh at how insignificant it really is
I will one day be far away
Safe, secure, at peace
From this life
I seize
Unconformable, restless and nervous
Is my soul
But the sun will shine
And the blossoms will bloom
No longer then will I gloom
On this rainy day
One day, I will go far away
And heart at peace
Forget this day, laugh it away
And say
Truly, I am finally home.
