Make Me a Pendulum

Make Me a Pendulum

A Poem by ShameemAkhtar

Wrap your hands
around my neck
and make me a pendulum
of your embrace

Toss me

Toss me forth
Toss me back
Toss me

And make me the hands of time

Dance me
One step forward
One back
Dance me

Make me prisoner

Toss me in the golden cage
of your embrace
and toss me

Let me oscillate
between the good and the bad
Let me dance
amidst the crowd of oblivion

Make me a pendulum

Until

I choke

Toss me
Until

My hands turn

360o

Brew me
Brew me with the caress of your kick

Brew me into magic
A potion
Of hatred

But toss me
In a portion of your life

Let me remain a pendulum

Toss me
Dance me
Kick me

Tighten your grip
Don’t let go

Let me be wanted
in the storm of hatred

Let me feel the bliss
of your strangle

Someone

Please soften the grasp…

Well that was cheerful.
Facetiousness aside, quite a nice (and by nice, I mean not nice at all) little poem that does quite a neat little job in conveying its admittedly disturbing subject. Your use of repetition is well-handled, as is the style and word choice. Good job on this one.

Shocking, violent and disturbing. Also facinating and incredibly well written with such pace, theme and timing. A superb poem on a harsh subject.

a poem that got my attention as it's an intriguing one . but i'm not sure about it to be frank , overall the format is great and new . the select words are too . so well done

Again, a shocking piece, the desperate desire to be acknowledged, no matter the consequences, no matter how painful being acknowledged is.
I personally wouldn't want that, I would prefer a life lived for others, one that nobody ever notices, I'd prefer that to being ravaged as this poem makes me feel.
Very effective poem, good write.

Cool. I like the motion of the words, they mimic the motion of pendulum so well.
