Whenever Im with you

Will you sit with me and talk a while

Outside underneath the shade of this oak.

You will still be able to feel the suns warmth

Im kinda jealous of how it kisses your skin 

but mine just burns.

I love the way your hair shimmers

As the light dances through the branches

Its almost as if it shines on us alone

At least thats how it seems,

whenever Im with you.

Its hard to believe I've known you so long,

Because everyday you seem to surprise me

Yes I know its been a while, and we've both grown

But talking to you brings me back,

 I look at you and I can't help but smile

It was all so innocent then, 

When the world was full of possibilities

And our dreams glittered like fragments of broken glass

I've been so weary these last few years

Building up walls between me and the world

And just talking to you,

Embraced by the warmth of your gentleness

I feel like its safe, to add a few doors

At least thats how it seems
