Since the Beginning

Since the Beginning

A Poem by ShaunMosley

I'm breaking over and over into a thousand pieces,
Pieces of myself, my soul, dispatched across all of creation,
In an instant all that was so loved and cherished, was ripped away
And the pieces of my heart left to wither like a rose plucked from its roots in the prime of its bloom
How can it be just that something so beautiful, something so apparently divinely inspired,
Has no armor that can defend against that which tears all you trust
slowly pulling you into pieces, crippling your faith
No anecdote or cure for the pain that lingers long after the final words are spoken
I am so lost right now, I have done nothing wrong,
I have loved you wholly since the beginning,
I gave my all to you and left myself totally exposed,
my soul naked and bare with no selfish agenda or insincere sentiment
before time and people and all that is...ever was...
before light, and water, there was just the void...
the wide expanse of nothing, an empty canvas seeking paint,
and an artist so masterful, he could create billions of years into the future
How then with all his wisdom, and love and unyielding mercy,
could he have created two people so equally yoked,
to let circumstances or life divide what he intended to be joined...
Since the Beginning!!!!
