My Affliction

My Affliction

A Poem by Shawna
"

We all have atleast one...

"

It's burning cherry taunts my addiction.

If only one drag, it satisfies my affliction.

Long and slender, fits perfect between my fingers.

I don't even mind the hefty smoke that lingers.

Inhale and exhale the bittersweet satisfaction.

A smoking gun to my head, ready for action.

This sickness I have for the deadliest of habits,

I hide in my room for fear that someone will snatch it.

I sit and watch the smoke rings dance through the poisoned air.

Please don't take away my dirty pastime affair.

Twirling between my lips, such a soothing relief.

I had a hard day, it cures me of grief.

I know what I do is just asking for misfortune.

But without my smoking gun, I forsee nothing but torture.

Please no comments on how to quit smoking or anything of that nature....I just took a bad habit of mine and put it into words. Thank you for reading! :)
