From the drink she hands him a piece of ice

Hold this and know its form in its entirety

Know the sensations expounding through your hand

Center it

Accept the perception of pain as perception

As your cells begin to die

Accept that it is not truth.

Find its limitations and keep it there, enclosed

Damed to itself.

Accept the discrepancy of temperature

Down to your cells

Atoms

Acknowledge the breaking of hydrogen bonds

As they know you

Aware of you

It encompasses them.

There are assured you are there

By their nature

Presence

Just as they are assured of themselves

Know their limitations and preconceived? Movements

As they quiver and accept the skin

Find your skin

Bring it into itself

Not to hoard or protect

But to acknowledge

Find the ice

The sensation

Against you

In this way

You must know yourself.
