I Shutter At The Thought

I Shutter At The Thought

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr

I shutter at the thought
At life passing me by
Not knowing all the answers
Nor reasons or why's

The question is
At the end of the day
Why does it all matter
When we're not here to stay?

I shutter at the thought
Of what remains to be seen
That life could be a nightmare
Or some demonic dream

Not really existing
In this place or time
Perhaps its a premonition of life
Played out in our very own minds
