spring

spring

A Poem by shoepolish
"

a poem about the dawn of spring

"

as winter fades, memories flood in

ones that we've lost, ones that we've gained

the things we remember, the things we forget

at this time of year, are put to the test

spring in all its glory, a warm butterscotch

the buttery sun reveals, that which was lost

far beneath the snow, seeds will awaken

and take all the spaces, that can be taken

under a vanilla sky, like a warm cup of coffee

the earth drenched in light, and the wind is choppy

throwing the breeze, like the beat of a song

wistling a tune, as the trees sway along

then something happens,as the sun winks away

everything's gold, at the end of the day

the clouds turn to pink, the sky turns to purple

as everything goes dark, the stars start to sparkle

First off I would like to note that I love the line, "seeds will awaken and take all the spaces, that can be taken". Your rhyme scheme is a little off. The lines would hold together alot better if they even slant-rhymed. However, I do like the imagery that you use. I love to write about nature. Spring is my favorite month. You really get your point across. These are just suggestions and I enjoyed reading your poem.

The way you described the season is so amazing. You pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Where I live we get a ton of snow. And spring is always so nice to see.
And when I was ready this, I imagined the first day of spring in my town.
