Just Like Gravity

Just Like Gravity

A Poem by PJ

Just Like Gravity

You kissed my forehead, and I turned away

I stared through the window, and we both fell silent

Like twinkling stars, looking very close to eachother, but so so faraway in reality

Just like gravity

When you said goodbye, I said I'd see you tomorrow

I knew it wasn't true,I knew you'd be gone

Like a smooth, sun warmed pebble, you dropped from my hand and fell and fell and fell

Just like gravity

I'd pretended you'd always be there,

That i'd never have to say goodbye.

Like an old comfortable chair, I could always fall into you knowing I wouldn't be getting hurt

Just like gravity

Now that you're gone,I tell myself that I'll see you again

That I can always find you, that I will always need you

Like a force that covers immeasurable distance

Just like gravity

I like the strong statements and thoughts in your poem. I like the use of gravity to make you point in the poem. I like the ending to the excellent poem.
