The Miles Flow By...

The Miles Flow By...

A Poem by Augustus

The miles flow by

Covering the chasm between source and destination

The arrow of time finds its mark…..

Severing the past from the present

The continual rustle of routine life

Merges with the cloudy sky of memories

Do I live in the present?

Or do I walk that obscure path which unfolds into a living daydream?

When the intensity of emotions conquers the inadequacy of words,

In silence I must walk on the edge of reason,

with ever novel revelations enchanting my soul.

Nice.
I really like it. It put me in a car, in the summer watching the trees blur while riding by and brought that into the concept of time.
The fourth line from the last is a fascinating question for one to ask. how would we know the path?

I enjoyed reading this and it made me think which means you accomplished all that poetry should. Good job

Beautiful and meaningful and I love the flow. You have really captured the line between a common day and the spirit to fly beyond it all. Thanks for sharing this. Cheers
