Valley of Dreams

I walk down the valley

Set deep within my dreams

The lush green fields

The dancing daffodils

I gaze up at the azure sky

Serene in its embrace

When I see you

My angel from that sky

I move closer to you

Enveloped in your warmth

And I hold out my hand

Just to touch you

A fire inside me burns

A longing just to hold you

And drift away

One with the clouds

I remember the days

When you were mine

That warm embrace

And the gentle touch

I gaze in your eyes now

And tears, they flow

I hold your hands

And ask you why

“Why did you leave me?

In this world alone

To the Lord you went

Your warmth I need”

“Hold me close

In your loving memories

Love me forever and

I will live in you”

You say these words

And smile at me

I embrace you tight

To never let you go

I watch alone in reverie

As you fade away

Till I meet you again

In my valley of dreams.

This is my first attempt at a love related poem and frankly I'm really doubtful about how it's turned out, so tell me what you think!
