Seasons

Seasons

A Poem by Silent Heart

Spring.
Like two little bees who loved honey,
we met each other.
Our love was innocent like a child's eyes.
It was spring,
and the flowers were blooming,
just like our love.
Our world was technicolor.
Like everything else we were growing and learning about life.

Summer came...
We always heard about that summer romance,
but we didn't expect it to happen to us..
Our love was like the sun,
so strong and burning deep in our souls.
So strong people could see it from far,
so bright and true.
Suddenly a storm came over,
and just like the sea waves our love was in a turmoil.
Water and sand mixed up.

Autumn...
We were in trouble.
The leaves of trees were falling.
The flowers were dying.
Everything was changing color.
From pinks and purples to browns and dull yellows.
...And so was our love..
But what happened ?
Were we too young to understand that the sun would die someday ?
That the leaves of trees say goodbye and fall ?
What did we do wrong ? Did we love too much ?

Finally Winter.
Icy, cold, frozen: My heart.
To think that something that once burned so much just died
has left me soulless....
When i try to see  my reflection on the frozen lake,
I see nothing more that the broken ice,
and as i put my hand in this icy water
I feel nothing.
I am numb.

I walked up  the trail leading to the hills where the bees first met,
and as i was about to cut my wings..
I see it...
A tiny patch of bright green grass and a burning red flower looking at me.
I can feel the beauty in my bones...
and that's when i realize that everything can start again.
Just like when leaves fall off the trees to be reborn again in spring.
