i want your eyes to speak as

hands that grace lilting southern magnolias ...a

tensile tenuto .... a

leaving of finger tips  stars tracing

i want

hot cocoa and ground red pepper

your hair alive with

emeralds  streaming seaside pearls

that sacred place

i want 

breath to my life 

and drinking

each from one dawn to another

impaling our thoughts ..........a

soul quenching,  wanting  thirst 

i want you.

I really like the way you mix ideas here. The sensual alongside symbols of comfort. The emeralds and hot cocoa (albeit spicy :D). These juxtapositions speak to me of a greater depth than just a physical want. The soul wanting another soul intertwined with it perhaps.

Sometimes it’s not possible to get close enough. There are distances even in closeness that make it difficult to feel a complete sense of satisfaction.

But your poem reaches. That tenuto is inspired. What a lovely way of thinking about it. Musicality and stopping time to hold on. At least that’s how it shakes out in my head.

This is lovely work, E. Love and desire do create beautiful landscapes in the head-heart. When we step back and let them speak without fear.

wow what a great image:) This reminds me of the longing crave of write for me... that hunger I feel when I just taste a great line penned and I want more:) always I crave more just beyond my touch yet I keep chasing it! is it the muse is it that feeling you get when the construction is something the author enjoys or is it the thought of beauty that we can quite capture completely in words

I think you found and touched an ultimate "reach" ...that one taste you get and thereafter you not ever forget. Some walk from the "table" and for whatever reason can't come back to it for another ...but they live with the afters taste echoing behind their eyes.

well that is very luscious ...

the deep desire translating to another, oh and then the bounce back to be enjoyed. It's like the early meeting where in the relationship one can only see the richness, can only taste the what's to come through one's own imaginings - then and only then if the desire becomes 'touchable' well then we can experience a few moments of pure bliss.

You know I was drinking and Ecuadorian hot chocolate today - oh my goodness how good it was - that is where my mind shot when I read hot cocoa :D
