Morning Dew

Morning Dew

A Poem by Justin Tobey

The sun lights up the horizon
in a swirling burst of clouds and stars.
By the new day's light we see
what gift the Lady has left in the night.

Shimmering droplets anoint the ground,
suspended like diamonds among the emerald brilliance.
They paint the land in rainbows and gilded silver
marking out spiraling pathways
in iridescent wonder.

The once-barren ground flourishes
and sparks in star-bright scarlet, emerald,
lavender, gold, and sapphire, and moon-bright grey.
See how the technicolor arch has fallen from the heavens
and shattered into a million glittering pieces,
gems to adorn the day.

These fallen stars prove elusive in their beauty,
falling beyond uplifted leaves
to the dark earth below,
carrying the seed of the golden Lord's light,
preparing the ground for the coming spring,
preparing for the dawn of the seasons.
