ANOTHER LONELY NIGHT

ANOTHER LONELY NIGHT

A Poem by Allen Christopher Harding

Twas another lonely night;

how I long to hold you tight.

When I try to think, it is only of you;

you are on my mind whatever I do.

I long to be besides you so you I can hold;

Without you in my life, it is empty and cold.

I miss your gentle touch;

seeing your face I miss so much.

Can there be a night such as this;

a night when I long for your kiss?

Lying alone I see a strand of your hair;

another lonely reminder you are not there.

I try to dispel my feeling with all my might;

but despite this without you it is another lonely night.
