Let Go

Let Go

A Poem by Thanatos Darkraven

She clung to his arm
And held on tight
All the while saying
"Don't let go."

He held her close
Gazing in her eyes
Saying to her
"I won't let go."

They walked hand in hand
Down memory lane
Renewing their promise
That they'll never let go.

He stood next to her
And she next to him
They vowed to one another
To never let go.

They sat beside each other
Enjoying one another
Hands interlocked saying
"I'll never let go."

He sat by the bed
His hand lightly on hers
The doctor gently said
"Its time to let go."

The family gathered 'round
As he knelt by the grave
Softly he said to her
"I'm sorry I let go."

Soon after he joined her
On her flight way up high
Soaring to new heights
Where they'll never let go.

Now THIS is one of the very best ones I have read lately .
Superb in its content and flow and the lyrical singsong pattern of a nursery rhyme only serves to compliment the reading .
Great work .
