The "Spring Peepers" of North America are small chorus frogs whose chirping is one of the familiar signs of the beginning of Spring.

Dear Watercress. Love your 5/7/5. We had a pond once (sadly only a water feature now, filled in when grandchildren came to live with us). I can remember clearly the carryings on when frogs were mating, especially the noise. You reminded me of frog spawn and watching those tadpoles morph into tiny frogs the size of a bluebottle fly :) We still get frogs in the garden all these years later. Making most of the water pooling underneath the water feature. Not nearly so many, but a few visitors make their way back.

I hope there are many among us who share such awareness as yours. In my area farm chemicals have drastically reduced frog numbers and bee numbers.
