craving you

craving you

A Poem by Hannah Berry

It’s 3:00 a.m. and I’m awake,

craving you.

I’m alone with my thoughts, and you’re in every single one..

is that at all pathetic? Obsessive?

And it’s the witching hour, it’s dark and lonely

you’re so far away.

Why are you so far away?

I’m here in my bed, wishing on a star, but there’s none to be found

In tonight’s sky

I can't see anything

So I’m wishing on the blackness engulfing everything

That you could just be,

Be here with me

it’s 3:01 a.m. and I’m awake

craving you.

This is a perfect description of that gnawing, obsessive feeling. You set the scene so well. I love it!
