Dance of Negligence

Dance of Negligence

A Poem by Danielle M Regalado

You swell as the blood seeps through your lips.

An obscure kind of sadness makes up the kiss.

The fiasco of saints dance through your head,

Shoving fists through my mind,

As you wake up dead.

I’m tied to the bed.

The twisting nails down my spine

Tearing the flesh and the souls combine.

The succulent treasure, and glass in the eye

Piercing through the needle lies.

You wake from the dusk and watch as I sleep.

So far away, but in so deep.

Timeless wonders, inhibited lies

Push through the skin of my virgin thighs.

Forced into submission and torn by the fate,

Sucked by the void of this endless wait.

And I’ve lingered too long in this masquerade.

It’s no wonder it will never illuminate.

Why can’t I let go!?

Why do I bleed so,

The demons make up my mind,

I’ve been beaten to a pulp

But I’m too blind.

I give it all up.
