Monkey In The Middle

Monkey In The Middle

A Poem by Jordan A. Wilson

The stakes aren’t as high as you’d like to think

You don’t need to fall as quick as a blink

I’m not searching for The One or hunting for the next

The middle is where I aim to lay

The happiest medium I wish to play

Shame on me for the openness

"The one" isn't capitalized traditionally. It's in quotations. I had no issues with the rest of your poems. It's a great end. "Shame on me for the openness" is very relatable. After all, it's better to be quiet, aloof and be thought mysterious, then put your foot in your mouth, right?
