His Pride and Her Prejudice

His Pride and Her Prejudice

A Poem by Kathleen Burlas

He walks with swag
His pride was his dignity
Love was never his level
For diamonds are in his veins

She believes in solitude
Her prejudice was her eyes
She doesn't trust in love
For freedom was her will

But somehow love made his way
Stroked these two with Cupid's bow
Unbelievably, they're perfect two
Strings were made for them to blow

But with his pride
He didn't lay to bow
Buried his only love
To a boast so high

And she let him go
With her prejudice she believed
She let her mind spill
And get blinded from the truth

Love cried looking at the two
This was not what destiny made
Such pride and prejudice
Are beasts that jail the sparks

Their once sweet love
Is turning into tragedy now
A story of woe and awe
Turned to myth in just a blink

Now these two must work their way
For them to make love move
He must lower his boastful pride
And her foolish prejudice must be fired !
