Jackie's Legacy

Jackie's Legacy

A Poem by smurfett
"

A loved one taken away much too soon from many

"
What can I say about Jackie
That people haven't already said?
Her laughter, her smile, the way that she loved
The memories will burn in our heads.
It saddens our hearts to lose such a soul
To know someone like her is quite rare
A mother, a leader, a friend and a wife
For some reason it doesn't seem fair.
God needed her more so he took her away
Of this we know for sure
For Heaven must have been one angel short
Of a loving heart so pure.
Jackie inspired so many of us
We were blessed to know her love
Now she'll be keeping an eye on us all
Next to God from the Heavens above.
Always in our memory

a great poem that was honest and pure. I loved the verb you used in the first stanza. it "burned" in my head a lingering heaviness of the life that i just learned of and that has now gone. my favorite line was "For Heaven must have been one angel short
Of a loving heart so pure." Such a beautiful way to call her a beautiful person. Thank you for sharing :)
