A Poem by Oblivion

Endings without ending,

hurt even more

ripping savagely to the core of my

broken heart.

To stay in a state of pretend

doesn’t heal or mend,

it only results in calloused affection

fake protection and less of me

then you can see on a clear day

So I mourn my dying trust

and sacrifice it to the altar of

yesterdays treasured memories.

where something is not better

than nothing.
