The Willie Wagtail

The Willie Wagtail

A Poem by solitare
"

Willie Wagtails are a native bird in Australia, they are tiny black and white very cute, constantly active and inquisitive birds.

"
my little bird
peeping
you furtively frequent again
am i so curiously amusing?
abundantly blessed
slunk spiritless on my sofa
so sadly solitare
socialising with
my pink gin and tarot.

my little bird
chirping
you glance bewilderingly
what is it you think of me?
posed with plush pleasures
yet mercilessly melancholy
delaying dreams
by artlessly casting cards
for some royal revelation.

my little bird
dancing
wagging your tiny tail
do you wish to show me the way?
camouflaged in my castle
carelessly charading
while you have flown fiercelessly alone
tenaciously tweet silvery sweet
faithfully fly heroicly high.
