The lonely daisy

The lonely daisy

A Poem by Ghost47

On a field of grass
Lies a single daisy
Drifting in the breeze
The daisy was at ease

But then came the drought
Witty, fast and coy
The daisy began to slouch
Then came along a boy

He watered her every time
From then on until one day
He stopped his usual visits
Waiting for him she lay

But finally she gave up
Then came a family
A girl as pretty as stars
She came to the lonely daisy
And reached out her hand to pluck it
