Dark Canvas

A Poem by Ghost47
"

It's a poem to those of us who have had enough. Here's to us

"
Here is to the heart that no longer bleeds
So stubborn that it refuses to follow any lead
For those ocean eyes which have dried
And that shell that once tried and is now tired
To be left with a brain that denies every emotion
To the words that was suppressed before it was spoken

The blank lines which hardly makes sense
For those who have fallen for the pretence
That broken spirit that could never heal
For that soul that has forgotten to feel
All the lies that she keeps to herself
She puts them gently on the shelf

Hardly does she understand the rules of society
Every night she tries to deal with her anxiety
They tell her she does not understand
How can she with all her emotions banned
So she breaks down into a small ball
Waiting for the illusions call
