Twisted Hearts

Twisted Hearts

A Poem by sophsor
"

This isn't about me.

"

Love at first

Left hand red.

It wasn't just my body that was twisted on the matt.

Left hand red.

Two hands, one spot.

Foot slips, heart skips.

Left hand red.

Foreign pulse in my hand.

Cheeks burn. He turns.

Left hand red.

Left foot green.

A message on my screen

'I'll see you tomorrow night'.

Left foot green.

Lips lingered on my own,

lips that did not belong to him.

Left foot green.

He says, I wish that guy was me.

Left foot green.

Left foot yellow.

Friends eyes move to stare

as you sit beside me.

The concrete doesn't feel cold anymore.

Left foot yellow.

A glimmer in his eyes caught me

by surprise.

"You know, I can dance".

Left foot yellow.

Falling, falling,

flailing.

I giggle and watch.

Perhaps he should have used his

Right hand blue.

Your hand is to blame

For confusing me.
It feels warm, so Why do I have goosebumps?

It feels so Right-

hand blue.
The bus is in view.
You kiss me anyway.

I think I like you.

Right hand blue.
