Schizophrenic Mindset

Schizophrenic Mindset

A Poem by Sydni Austen

The opponent, ANTITHETICAL to HAPPINESS, steps into the ring
And I have YET to put on my boxing gloves

When HE strikes, I FALL to the bottom of the deepest sea
As I DROWN, HE can still dig under my SKIN with his thoughts

My schizophrenic mind KILLS every inch of faith I'll have left
My schizophrenic mind MURDERS every chance of winning this battle

But HE'S familiar
His incense of cannabis and a hint of blood

For now my FEAR is unbroken and my soul is lit of a FLAME
I can only win if I LET the LION in.
