Roots

Roots

A Poem by spayne94

Roots dragging my stem towards the rotten hell

Dragging me into their hatred of such absurdity

Lying to me with the gentle flower swaying in the winds

Lies lies lies

Below the sunshine there is a dark place

And now I see it

I feel its close thick body wrapping around me

Pulling me to death

It’s grotesque stench lingering in my senses

Reminding me of my desolate ways

To remember life is a reoccurring lie
