Welcome Death

Welcome Death

A Poem by Surya pradha
"

the fear of death is greater than death itself...

"
withered leaves, t'was so plush,
stripped canopies, once merry mush,
the light of life, very faint,
everything gone, only darkness remains.

the tilted hourglass, empty now,
time to take your final vow,
a last, shaky, wheezy breath,
extinguished by the hands of death.

the ever victorious conqueror awaits,
none have bettered, none can evade
but, my dear, never fight,
just surrender, it'll be all right.

flood yourself with memories,
the beauty of life, you will see
close your eyes and you'll believe
death is the start of another eve.

burnt to ashes, your body may rot,
but the thought of you will definitely not
your spirit, your soul will always remain
never forgotten nor in vain

welcome death, tis not the end
only the beginning, my merry friend,
let it come when it must
go and get back your life's lost lust!

thanks a lot for the kind words!
Thanks friend for telling me so. I like the second last stanza of ur poem, '

'burnt to ashes, your body may rot,
but the thought of you will definitely not
your spirit, your soul will always remain
never forgotten nor in vain '

I find it a pleasant thought to be able to live on in the thoughts of others, I wish this would happen to me for good! Amen.

This is amazing Surya! Death is an ultimate end of sorts. To the physical entity. but life the person continues in others. Death, moreover, is never hard just the concept of it is. I think this is one of your best works :)

.............:):):)
I loved this! It has so much meaning and power.
Death is definitely gonna visit us, sooner or later. We can only live till the time our destiny wants. No more no less.
I loved the way you tell that its the start to a new eve. Its not the end. Rather than worrying about dying we should enjoy life to its fullest :)
Another great writing by you :)

glad you agree with my poem. thanks for the praise!
Death is the great leveler -- it comes to us all in our time. And, I believe it is only another beginning -- "the start of another eve." But, we must live the life of now to the fullest, with love and gratitude.
